• Shit to Hit: Sappi Paper Workshop Tonight

    / Comments (0)

Sarah Ostheim, Business Development Manager from Sappi Fine Paper North America will be presenting Sappi’s latest educational/promotional piece: “Print &”… Everything Else. For the past decade, prognosticators have been predicting the demise of print, but industry surveys and studies show that the opposite is true. Print and Digital prove to be complementary, and brand marketers are learning to play to the strengths of each. And for those who think using less paper or choosing not to print is more “green,” Sarah will also go over just how sustainable the paper industry is. She will give an inside look at how forests are actually healthier and in better balance due to the efforts of paper companies like Sappi.

In 2009, graphic designer Ludovic Houplain and his partners François Alaux and Hervé de Crécy of H5 agency produced a short film depicting a world composed entirely out of logos, "Logorama", which went on to win an Academy Award.

Over the course of the project, the designers collected more than 40,000 consumer graphics in a massive database. These images will be made available in a book, Logobook, published by Taschen. Pre-order one at Amazon.

  • Stop Talking Crap About The Florida Music Scene

    / Comments (0)

When Vice "journalist" Stephanie Dubick wrote an article about the Florida band Hundred Waters, she also took it upon herself to bash our great state's music scene. It led to quite an uproar and Vice issued a challenge to tell them where they "fucked up." Dante Lima, the son of Say it Loud's Julio Lima wrote a compelling response, and they published it. If you're a fan of music, and Florida, it's worth your time.

Read the original Hundred Waters interview.

    Read Dante's great rebuttal.
